SmartFarm was present from 31 May to 02 June 2022 at the Soil Evolution event in Uttenweiler, Germany. The event is organised by GKB, Boden ist Leben and Swiss No-Till.
The event about soil fertility and soil structure in Germany.
Soil Evolution is the place where innovative fertilisation and crop protection concepts meet the agricultural market. What makes Soil Evolution unique is the knowledge it shares. Visitors had the opportunity to listen to various lectures and presentations on soil fertility, crop protection and fertilisation.
The agricultural school Josephinum from Austria was also present at the fair. The students David, Matthias and Jan walked along during the whole event. In this way they gained knowledge about crop protection in an interactive way. At the end of the event, the class received a FieldMate.
This way, they can design lessons about crop protection at school as well and see how weather conditions influence this using the FieldMate. For many companies, the FieldMate with spray planner and disease alert systems was something new.
There was a lot of interest in the link between the FieldMates and the SmartFarm app. Farmers in Germany are actively working to grow their crops more efficiently and sustainably. Growers can immediately see how their plots are doing and what the disease pressure is, without having to physically visit them. This was a reason for many growers in Germany to purchase the FieldMate. During and after Soil Evolution, 35 FieldMates were sold.
With the FieldMate giveaway, one visitor at our SmartFarm stand could win a FieldMate. The winner is Johannes Jerchel, who grows sugar beet in Germany. He got to hold the FieldMate together with his wife. You can see the video below.
