Rodeko fair 2023

SmartFarm at Rodeko fair

Fully automated planting machines, Smartfarm’s FieldMate and plenty of focus on soil management. Those were the standouts at the RoDeKo fair last weekend in Kolhorn.

The RoDeKo (red and Danish cabbage) growers’ association fair at Jimmik in Kolhorn, North Holland, featured three suppliers of fully automatic planting machines. After Nanne Kooiman and Agri Evolutions, TTS-Transplanter is now also doing business above the North Sea Canal with a lighter machine.

Sensors aid in mold control

New at the show was Smartfarm with the FieldMate sensor that has now become established among broccoli growers. This sensor is a tool in decision support systems for control of fungi in particular. “The sensors collect data where it matters most, right between the plants,” says the supplier.

Crop climate measurements appear to differ greatly from data collected regionally by common weather stations. “The precise and independent collection at the ultra-local level allows us to provide the right information needed to make the decisions.”
